Who is Nelly bonkers?

Nelly Bonkers was founded and created by Me; Georgia Thomas - Locke a 23 year old Fashion and Textile graduate from Stourbridge, West Midlands.

I have always been passionate about vintage clothing from a very early age and as far back as I can remember I was trying on my Grandmas clothes, playing dress up and dancing around the house with knickers on my head. I used to love opening up my Grandmas wardrobe and seeing all the beautiful colours of fabrics and prints and I remember the distinct smell and feel of the material as I would immerse myself in the forest of material memories. This wooden box, with rails inside used to entice me like Narnia. My Grandma, Helen has been a huge influence on me growing up. My mum Lou, was a single parent when I was growing up and she worked hard to provide me with the most amazing childhood up bringing surrounded by my own ponies and fields and the real forest of Kinver Edge. We had our quality time at the weekends when she would take me horse riding competitions all around the country. Phill Collins and Tina Turner got us through those cold, early, bitter winter mornings. During the week I'd spend most my time with the horses, making dens and in Grandmas wardrobe and this gave me the chance to chat to my grandma and get her to tell me stories from the past.

My Grandmas real name is Nelly Broadhurst and she met my Grandad at an early age and they married at 21 and had my Mum. Grandma changed her name from Nelly to Helen as people used to humour her about the name Nelly. Since her telling me the reason for her name change I have always been determined tho have my own business called Nelly. As the years went on and my passion for vintage clothing grew and grew I decided that one day my business was going to be in vintage clothing and accessories and here I am today witing this 'about my business' section on my own website. EEEKKKKKK. Oh yeah your probably thinking where does the Bonkers part come from in the name, well thats because anyone that know my grandma knows that she is BONKERS! I just put the two and two together and I have fallen in love with the name Nelly Bonkers.
